  • What You'll Do

    As an Engineering Field Specialist, you are extremely hard working and tech savvy. You are comfortable utilizing all necessary testing equipment in the field. You have a great eye for detail and are methodological in your testing procedures. You enjoy your time out in the field as well as in the office classifying your samples.     You will be part of a dynamic, growing and energized team – and your role is key to the success of ECS.  While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in:

    • Boring and test pit layout by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems
    • Observing and classifying test pits and performing hand auger borings
    • Operating pressuremeter testing equipment during drilling operations
    • Seismic and Pile Driving Analyzer testing (PDA)
    • Installing and monitoring geotechnical instrumentation such as inclinometers, tilt meters, and crack monitors
    • Deformation monitoring using various surveying instruments and techniques
    • Classifying soil samples obtained from drilling operations
    • Reduction of GPS data, pressuremeter tests results, seismic data, and PDA data
    • Preparing reports and managing projects


    What We're Looking For

    • BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
    • 0 – 2 years of experience
    • Some serious GRIT and have no problem lifting/carrying 40 – 100 lbs. multiple times a day
    • Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites – Mileage will be reimbursed
